Abigail Laura Wright is a 26-year-old resident of the McCallister Building who went missing around June 4, 1995. Before she went missing, many of her paintings were of Portland, especially the Pioneer Courthouse Square. From December 1994 to January 1994, she had an art show at the Russo Lee Gallery.

Investigation Prior to Operation: Alice

The Portland Police Department forced entry into Wright's apartment on June 4, 1995. Various odd objects were strewn about her apartment, including: artificial limbs, clothing, papers in various languages, and small electronics affixed to the walls and ceiling.

In the Oregonian article from July 10,1995, Chief Detective Graham Giuradanda said that the PPD was no closer to locating Wright.

On August 4, 1995, Wright's credit card was used at a gas station in Kennewick, Washington. Wright was unidentifiable from photographs, and they lacked surveillance footage. The investigation was reclassified as possible interstate abduction.

The PPD also found a piece of paper with an odd symbol drawn in gold ink.

First Interview with Thomas Manuel

According to resident Thomas Manuel, Abigail moved to the sixth floor of the McCallister Building in May of 1995. To celebrate, she hosted a celebration in the smoking lounge on the fourth floor. Manuel reported that she had "moved on." When questioned, Manuel reported that she was not missing.

Manuel also reported that Wright had moved into the building in October of 1994.

Other Things Relevant to the Case

A receipt was found that said Abigail had paid her rent on July 3, 1995, nearly a whole month after her disappearance.
