Gladiolus Edelweiss (he/him, previously known as Peony Edelweiss) is a vigilante knight who ran away from his previous life as a princess to be a man.

Personality

Gladiolus is sort of the in-between of Adurere and Frostbite. Gladiolus kind of acts like an average guy except for his royal background. He doesn’t think of himself as particularly heroic or valiant. He really just wants to help people.

He is particularly empathetic towards people stuck in a role that is not fit for them.

Despite his hard work when helping people, he is quite careless when it comes to responsibilities. He is pretty bad at cleaning. He struggles to do certain basic responsibilities as servants used to do all that for him.

Backstory

Gladiolus grew up in the Edelweiss castle. He had his needs attended to and pretty much everything was done for him. He was forced to learn how to be a proper princess and eventual queen. He “absolutely dreaded the idea of becoming queen. All of that responsibility and those big dresses scared [him]”, as he said in his diary from when he was a princess.

His whole life changed when he found a suit of armor and claymore hidden in a secret corridor in the castle. He decided to put on the suit of armor, take the claymore, and run away one night. His plan was successful. The whole kingdom searched far and wide for Peony Edelweiss, but they could never find her.

After escaping, Gladiolus was left homeless until he found a rundown house far from the Edelweiss Kingdom. Once he entered, he found out the house was alive. They then developed a symbiotic relationship. Gladiolus would provide food and friendship to the house, and the house would provide housing to Gladiolus.
